Product Review: ActiveWrap Hot/Cold, Foot/Ankle Wrap

Most of you know by now that I had a serious ankle injury a couple of years ago. I had to have a tendon removed and the ends sutured and grafted. With some great physical therapy and weight loss,  I have been able to start running again. I find that I need to ice my ankle after running, to keep the swelling down or it is really uncomfortable, especially at night. I still use an ace wrap on it nightly, and by morning, the swelling is gone and it’s back to normal.  It’s just on the days when I run, that I need a little something more.

As I increase my distance I am finding that I have more soreness afterwards. Most runners have aches and pains afterwards, and that’s ok. I am being smart and not increasing my mileage this summer too quickly. I just don’t want to take a chance on another injury and another years worth of hard work to get it back to normal. I’ve met others with the same injury as myself, and they haven’t been as lucky. I’m not willing to take a chance.

Anyway… I was out searching the web for some type of wrap that I could use to ice after running. It’s a pain in the #$# to have to get out an icepack and an acewrap and get it all fixed up. After weeks of looking at the different products out on the market, I found one that I thought would work for me.

ACTIVEWRAP makes these fantastic hot/cold wraps for all different body parts.  I like how my ankle wrap is soft and easy to apply with the velcro. It has two “packs” that can be placed anywhere your pain is located. They can also be used hot, or cold, which I think is a BIG plus! It fits great and boy is it cold… I usually wear a sock with it, as my skin gets really cold, very quickly.

I have to say that I am fully 100% satisfied with this purchase. I would totally recommend this product to anyone having foot or ankle issues. At roughly $35-40, you can’t go wrong. I shopped around and found it on sale, with free shipping too, which made it all the better.
