Product Review: Mizuno Dig Duffel

Today’s review is the “Mizuno Dig Duffle“.
I found myself searching for something that I could put a couple changes of running clothes in, along with shoes and a jacket. I almost gave up trying, as I could not find anything that matched what I had in my mind for a bag. One night I was browsing the Mizuno website, as I often do, and I came across this duffle bag in the Volleyball section of the website. Lo and behold.. I found my match! It is exactly what I was looking for.
Let me tell you what makes this bag special.. it’s not an ordinary run of the mill variety bag. I will probably use this as a weekender bag when traveling, as it holds so much, yet is light and stylish.
First the specs:
• Ideal carry on bag for air travel or to the court or race
• Side compartment pocket for shoes or valuables
• Multiple pockets to secure all your valuables
• Clip on/off shoulder strap
• Easy access footwear compartment
• padded shoulder strap for comfort
• (L) 23″ x (H) 11.5″ x (W) 10.5″
• Colors: Pink, Navy, Columbia, Black
I enlisted my friend Amanda to model the item for me.
As you can see, it is the perfect size, and can be worn over the shoulder or across the body with the attachable strap. Either way it’s very comfy. I don’t know about volleyball players, but runners can fill up a bag pretty quickly with all the stuff we need for races. And… it’s PINK! yay!! But as you can see above, it comes in other colorways too.
This bag is extremely well made… so well, that I took pictures of all the different parts of the bag so you can see the construction of it.
Looking down onto the top, there are two big zippered sections, which I promptly filled with my favorite Mizuno gear.
Next.. the zippers. Heavy duty ones, these aren’t going to break. And if you look really closely, you will see the little Mizuno runbird on the zipper pulls. Nice touch!
The top section has two pockets, which I put my hand into so you can see how deep they are. Perfect for a cell phone, makeup, small purse, etc…  One is zippered, and one is open. I’m pretty sure you can put a smaller sized waterbottle in the open one.
Now let’s take a look at the padded, velcro handle. Again, very well made, and easy to carry when the bag is full. Not one of those cheesy cheap strap handles. Obviously made to carry a sizeable load comfortably.
One thing that makes this bag unique, is the shoe pocket. You can put a pair of running shoes in it, or you could put a couple pairs of flip flops and odds and ends in there. They really thought hard about this one.. there are vent holes in this section. No stinky shoes making your clothes smell. You also could use this area for your wet and/or dirty clothes when traveling.. this would keep them separate from the rest. Even with the shoes in the pocket, there still is room in there for socks, or a pair of shorts, or whatever else you can fit.
Lastly we will take a look at the shoulder carrying strap. The majority of it is a ribbed type, sturdy material, but the shoulder pad is really nice. The underside of the pad is mesh, so that it breathes well and is softer against the skin.
One last look from the top. Plenty of room to put all your racing accessories in, plus room for shoes and even a waterbottle or two. How nice is that!?!
This bag is going to be a huge help with my traveling to races in the next coming years. Living in Maine I often have to travel all over the state to race and struggle with having something to get all my gear into. Problem solved thanks to Mizuno!
Want a bag for yourself?  You can find them in the volleyball section of the Mizuno website.
