Welcome to Summer race!

For something fun I decided to take on a couple more virtual races for this summer. I knew that my dad’s health was going to deteriorate and I didn’t want to sign up for races that I wouldn’t be able to get to. So by doing things on my own, when I can, I still get the benefits of the exercise and it is kind of fun to run with a “bib” on, and make people wonder where the rest of the runners are!  Hahahha…
This particular race was called the “Welcome to Summer” Virtual Run 5/10K. It seemed like a good reason to run, as we all love summer don’t we??? My running also is helping me to de-stress a bit, after losing my father on the 5th. The funeral is not until next weekend, so its been in the back of my mind constantly. Trying to get all the arrangements done is the easy part… packing up his apartment and all of his things and the awards he had won in his 92 years, is going to be the hard part. My husband is going to help me with that, as I won’t want to throw anything away.
Anyway, I enjoyed my virtual run immensely, love to you all, happy summer!

  1. I love virtual races! Great job! I’m so sorry to hear about your dad.

    • Hi Jenny.. Virtual races seem to be my style right now.. much easier at this point in my life! My dad a great life, and lived to be 92.. hope I will be able to do the same! 🙂

Yay for you doing this 5k! I’m doing it too. I love virtual 5ks. I’m with you on the not wanting to throw things away and I’m happy your husband will be there to help you. Mine helped me quite a bit. It really had to come down to “did I have a connection with this and my mom?” or was it just a pot? or sewing machine, etc.

    • I totally hear what you are saying! I have been thinking about how I am going to decide on what to keep. When I think of throwing something out, I feel like dad might be watching and he’ll be disappointed.. so if hubby does it, I don’t think it will bother me as much. Make sense?
