Big day tomorrow!
Tomorrow morning will be my first 5K, although it is a “virtual race”. I figured I could do this as a precursor to a real one this summer. I have plotted out my route, and at 9am, rain or shine, I am going to hit the roads of Orono/Veazie. I’ve asked my husband to park at each of the mile markers to pass me water along the way. I am excited, but very nervous.
I did some reading about “fueling up” before a race, and tomorrow’s plan is this: Get up at 5am with the pups, and then eat my breakfast. That will consist of, a cinnamon raisin bagel, a Clif bar, and a banana. Then I’ll go back to bed and get up at 8, shower and get ready. Then.. off I go! You may see me plodding along Route 2 in my maroon T-shirt, with my bib on the front. hahaha.. but hey, it’s for a good cause! The money raised goes a charity in Colorado, that sponsors the real race, and the virtual ones.
Here’s my mapped out route. If you are in the area, make sure to toot as you go by!
